Seniors
Khmer Elderly Day Care Project
A long-running program providing Cambodian seniors with opportunities to socialise, learn, and access health and welfare information in a supportive, Khmer-language environment.
How this program helps
Support that is practical, local and culturally responsive
Running since 2006, now supporting 90+ seniors each week
The Khmer Elderly Day Care Project started in 2006, growing from a single group of 10 elderly participants aged over 65 to two groups with a total of over 90 elderly participants each week.
The first group meets weekly on Mondays (10am–1pm) and the second meets weekly on Wednesdays (10am–1pm) at CabraVale Club Resort.
The aim of the program is to provide opportunities for Cambodian seniors to socialise, converse in Khmer, make new friends, learn about services that can benefit them, and increase their awareness and knowledge of health issues that affect older people.
